Chiffons
{Performative installation} - 30 Mins
Maris Cantenys, Margaux Lalanne, Max Zippel and Mathilde Lin
Oscillating between poetry and the absurd, Chiffons explores memory, the search for meaning, and impermanence in the human condition. The work displays an organic landscape, yet one formed from an accumulation of textile debris that threaten to collapse. A wandering figure emerges and engages in a dialogue with the ghost-like presences forming the set. Through its interaction with its surroundings, the figure brings its world to life and celebrates it, while also damaging and destroying it.
In what could be seen as a modern interpretation of the myth of Sisyphus, the ideas of disappearance, trace, and beginnings echo one another.
The audience is invited to explore this dystopian universe.
Chiffons is a collaborative work in which performance, music, and set design respond to one another, with a constant element of improvisation.
